**Job Description**:
As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist reports to the HR Manager. The HR Generalist provides support and guidance to employees on a variety of topics and concerns and coordinates a variety of projects that help Human Resources respond to employee needs and concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Creates and builds strong relationships with employees through communications and performance feedback
- Counsels employees and management on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions and other employee related issues
- Assists with the drafting and updating of policies and procedures as required
- Participates in training initiatives which include updating the Training Matrix, working with supervisors to identify training gaps, and assist in scheduling and tracking training hours
- Maintains Pension Benefits, including the coordination of Information Seminars, employee enrollment, and resolving all relevant questions or concerns
- Creates and maintains job descriptions for all hourly and salaried positions
- Leads manpower meetings and liaises with supervisors to identify staffing and training needs
- Coordinates temporary staffing needs on a weekly basis with staffing agencies, as well as reviews and submits hours worked for temporary employees
- Coordinates and oversees the performance management process
- Prepares and maintains various reports, lists, records, and documentation (ie. monthly head counts, employee reports, agency head counts, and KPI’s)
- Creates, maintains, organizes and files relevant HR documents
- Participates in continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives
- Adheres to Company policies and procedures
- Adheres and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices
- Other HR initiatives and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

- Qualifications:_
- Should have a four-year degree, preferably in a field of Human Resources and/or a Post Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent education/experience.
- Must be a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) an asset
- Should have 2 to 4 years of relevant Human Resources experience
- Experience in a fast-paced and changing environment preferred
- Technical & Skill Requirements:_
- Must possess good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving and responsiveness to customer needs
- Must be computer literate and have strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Experience with Ceridian an asset
- Experience with Workday an asset

WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands):

- Climate controlled office environment
- Some time spent in manufacturing facilities
- Day shift
