As a Business Development Specialist with Calian’s Emergency Management Division, you’ll be a key player in driving sales and seizing opportunities. Your mission is to hunt for new and organic business prospects in the emergency management sector, staying ahead of market trends, recent emergencies, and public sector initiatives. Collaborate with the Senior Manager to craft and execute a winning sales plan, aiming to crush revenue and margin targets.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and offer tailored, innovative solutions using Calian’s resources. Stay alert to grant opportunities, funding sources, growth areas and market trends in emergency management and business continuity.
Work with Calian’s expert teams to leverage resources and expertise, pioneering cutting-edge solutions for complex challenges. Your expertise in consultative selling, strong market analysis skills, proven sales strategy execution, exceptional client relationship management, creative problem-solving abilities, and team collaboration will drive your success.

**Responsibilities**:
- Utilize your exceptional consultative selling skills to crush your revenue targets.
- Consult with prospects and clients to identify and qualify emergency management and business continuity needs.
- Present solutions that showcase Calian’s capabilities to influence favorable client decisions.
- Drive proposals through the entire sales cycle from development to closed sale to implementation.
- Expand and evolve a network of potential partners and customers to fuel growth.
- Contribute to business development and strategic communication projects to secure new deals.
- Leverage sales tools and technologies to manage your robust sales funnel.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to utilize team strengths and achieve corporate sales goals.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private organizations.
- Support administrative tasks for Calian projects and clients (POs, amendments, proposals, project plans, etc.).
**Qualifications**:
- 3+ years in long and short cycle consultative sales.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue and margin targets.
- Ability to build strong relationships, aligning with Calian’s values of equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
- Project management knowledge with relevant tools and methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- CRM experience with exceptional data hygiene.
- Effective time management in a remote team setting.
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for building trust and securing new business.
- Strong consideration for those with:_
- A degree or diploma in a relevant or related field is a plus.
- A background in Emergency Management or emergency services/public safety is a plus.
- Fluency in both English and French is a plus.
