Our strategy, facilities, partnerships and resources are intentionally student-centred to foster dialogue, expression and open connections in support of the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.The Coordinator, Student Rights, Responsibility + Safety provides guidance and case management support on matters related to student complaints, sexual and gender-based violence, misconduct, and threatening behaviour, covering policies 4.7 Student complaints, 4.6 Student Conduct, 3.6, 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and Misconduct, and policies 6.10 and 6.10.1 on Dealing with Threatening Behaviour. In consultation with counselling/wellness, faculty, staff, and students, the Coordinator Student Rights, Responsibly and Safety ensures comprehensive services and support plans are in place for students in the areas of prevention, education, and support for incidents of misconduct, sexualized violence/misconduct, and other threatening behaviours.- The Coordinator provides case management support to the Threat Assessment Team. In collaboration with members of Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Facilities, Counselling Wellness and Accessibility Services, and Student Services, the Coordinator ensures that individuals impacted by incidence of threatening behaviour, violence or reported misconduct receive the care and support needed to access health and academic services, legal options, and reporting processes in a safe environment. The coordinator will ensure appropriate supports are in place when responding to disclosures from marginalized and vulnerable populations including, but not limited to, racialized, trans and non-conforming, LGBTQ2S+, faith based or persons with disabilities. Furthermore, the Coordinator works to support the complainant and respondent to any alleged act of violence or misconduct and ensures all parties are given fair and equitable treatment as described by university policy. The Coordinator provides students access to education and prevention activities, including but not limited to training, awareness campaigns, individual consultation and support. The Coordinator will act to review and investigate reported breaches of student policies, facilitates early resolution and alternate resolution measures, attend relevant committees, and, if required bring evidence to Policy Advisors for decision making and sanctioning.**Typical Duties Include**:

- Provides hands on case management, through an intersectional lens, in the following ways:

- Meets with individuals to record statements and gather other details (i.e. collateral statements, evidence, as appropriate). Conducts interviews, collects relevant information in a professional and compassionate manner, including reviewing information from victims, witnesses, and alleged suspects.
- Provides information and responds to intake reports or questions and case management of informal / formal complaints, by employees and students.
- Provides recommendations and makes referrals for individuals for campus services and external community services when necessary. Involves the appropriate security or law enforcement for situations as required.
- Provides a first point of contact for student inquiries about appeals, complaints and other policy related questions.
- Works collaboratively as a member of threat assessment team, to complete violence risk assessments to evaluate threatening or potential threatening behaviour/situations involving visitors, students, staff, faculty, or others.
- Coordinates, and tracks cases and related sensitive information regarding threats or potential threats and develops, presents, and coordinates training for faculty, staff, students, or others in identifying potential risk situations and risk reduction strategies.
- Provides feedback and input for the development of policies, priorities, procedures, and guidelines consistent with leading practices in violence prevention and harm reduction and aligned to relevant legislation and the University’s strategic plan.
- Works with Executive Director Student Engagement Retention + Success to develop, plan and deliver relevant presentations that promote health and safety and provide student with necessary information on how to access services
