Description: Legal Assistant

Term: Temporary 1 year contract with the possibility of permanent placement.

As a Legal Assistant, you will work very closely as part of a small and dynamic legal team in support of two attorneys and will be involved in various legal files.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Transcribe dictated correspondence and legal documents;
- Revise documents and correspondence to ensure that they comply with legal procedures and grammatical usage;
- Prepare and draft various documents related to law (procedures, notices, etc.) and revision of procedures;
- Manage the agenda and coordinate the meetings of two lawyers while respecting deadlines and ensure a rigorous follow-up of files and management of schedules;
- Regularly follow up on files and update of the court agenda;
- Perform various searches: conflicts of interest, Registraire des entreprises, Court records, Land Registry, RDPRM, Superintendent of Bankruptcies, etc.;
- Assembly of procedures, exhibits, authorities binders;
- Manage the opening, paper and electronic filing, follow-up and organization of Court files;
- Perform other related duties.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant. Legal experience a strong asset;
- Training in legal secretarial or paralegal technology an asset;
- Excellent level of English and French, both spoken and written;
- Ability to communicate effectively with firm members and clients in a professional and courteous manner;
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential information;
- Capacity to work independently, as well as in a small and dynamic team environment;
- Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines;
- Able to prioritize tasks as necessary;
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Excellent organizational abilities to carry out active follow-ups on files and with lawyers;
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Dynamic, autonomous and meticulous.

En tant qu'assistant(e) juridique, vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration au sein d'une équipe juridique en soutien à deux avocats et participerez à divers dossiers juridiques.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS
- Transcrire la correspondance et les documents juridiques dictés ;
- Réviser les documents et la correspondance pour s'assurer qu'ils sont conformes aux procédures légales et à l'usage grammatical;
- Préparer et rédiger divers documents liés au droit (procédures, avis, etc.) et à la révision des procédures ;
- Gérer l'agenda et coordonner les réunions de deux avocats dans le respect des délais et assurer un suivi rigoureux des dossiers et la gestion des horaires;
- Suivi régulier des dossiers et mise à jour de l'agenda du tribunal ;
- Effectuer des recherches diverses : conflits d'intérêts, Registraire des entreprises, Dossiers du tribunal, Registre foncier, RDPRM, Surintendant des faillites, etc ;
- Montage de procédures, de pièces, de classeurs d'autorités ;
- Gérer l'ouverture, le classement papier et électronique, le suivi et l'organisation des dossiers de la Cour;
- Effectuer d'autres tâches connexes

COMPÉTENCES REQUISES

Minimum 2 ans d'expérience en tant qu'assistant administratif. Expérience dans le domaine juridique, un atout important ;
- Formation en secrétariat juridique ou en technologie parajuridique un atout ;
- Excellent niveau d'anglais et de français, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit ;
- Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec les membres du cabinet et les clients de manière professionnelle et courtoise ;
- Capacité à faire preuve de discrétion dans le traitement de renseignements confidentiels;
- Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante, ainsi que dans un environnement de petite équipe dynamique ;
- Produire un produit de travail de haute qualité et en quantité, parfois dans des délais serrés;
- Capacité à hiérarchiser les tâches selon les besoins ;
- Bonne connaissance de Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook et Teams) et d'Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Excellentes capacités organisationnelles pour effectuer des suivis actifs sur les dossiers et avec les avocats ;
- Bonnes aptitudes interpersonnelles et organisationnelles ;
- Dynamique, autonome et méticuleux.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $15.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
