As a core activity, SunMETA operates a leading western Canadian college with multiple locations offering both on-campus and online diploma programs in business, health and technology fields.
**The Opportunity**
SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of a **Human Resources Manager** in **Calgary, Alberta.**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Advise and support the Leadership team with recruitment and management expertise
- Identify recruiting strategies meeting the staff growth requirements of the organization, and coordinate a full array of recruitment and onboarding activities;
- Create hiring strategies, job descriptions, and perform market research
- Be a trusted HR partner to managers and employees within the organization, understanding the business’ internal and external environment;
- Support staff in various areas of employee relations, including pro-active performance management, recognition, progressive discipline, change management, benefit, and conflict resolution;
- Communicate and maintain best practices in accordance with legislated standards, legal practices and agency needs;
- Interpret Human Resource policies, Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights Legislation;
- Collaborate and support Leadership in planning and supporting evolving organizational structures;
- Leads HR metrics through collection of data, including annual turnover rates; and
- Lead and promote the values of the organization including a workplace that exhibits respect, fairness, equity, diversity, inclusiveness and lifelong learning.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management (or equivalent);
- Minimum 5 years HR generalist experience;
- Leadership-level experience (2-3 years) in an HR role;
- Previous experience as a recruitment leader;
- Detail-oriented, conceptually focused, and the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver results;
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex issues, and undertake root cause analysis;
- Demonstrated capability across the various HR core competencies including talent management, recruitment and selection, employee relations and high-performance team development;
- Expertise in creating and instituting foundation HR processes, practices and policies;
- Exceptional organizational, decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills encompassing change management, facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution;
- Ability to contribute to a positive, supportive workplace culture and interact with staff at all levels across the organization; and
