**Company Description** ABOUT LGC STANDARDS**:
This is a morning shift position with working hours from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

**Maintain a High Level of Safety**
- Understand and foresee and report possible safety issues.
- Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee.
- General housekeeping of work area and adhere to the department 5S standards.
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Work in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of self or co-workers.

**Arrange Transportation**
- Assist in processing orders via FedEx and other couriers
- Creating/generating Air Way Bills (AWB) and shipping labels for all outgoing orders to be shipped via courier populating necessary information
- Generate customs documents i.e. TSCA, NAFTA, B13, etc. and update as needed
- Generate and review dangerous goods documentations for dangerous goods shipments
- Obtaining information from catalogues as necessary
- Ensuring Fed-Ex or other courier shipping information is correct in order to guarantee timely delivery and to minimize associated costs
- Handling/resolving any shipping issues that may arise, including but not limited to incorrect and missing customer information or incorrect HS codes
- Resolve any shipment customs delays by providing missing information or documents to FedEx and any other couriers
- Handle RUSH orders accordingly

**Packing and Shipping**
- Complete final inspection of items against order (as per invoice or packing slip)
- Handling/resolving any shipping issues that may arise, including but not limited to missing items or product returns
- Follow-up on missing or incorrect documentation, including but not limited to missing C of A’s or expired MSDS’s
- Pack product according to product requirements such as temperature sensitive and dangerous goods materials
- Ensure that all shipments are properly packaged with appropriate labels
- Process RUSH shipments accordingly and communicate with Customer Service if there is a delay
- Retrieve weighed chemical compounds from Shipping and Logistics storage
- Package and assemble orders to be shipped, ensuring proper packaging procedures are used and all required documentation is in place
- Package and assemble orders of Dangerous Goods materials as needed

**Act as a Resource to LGC Standards Leadership**
- Prepare/Guide/Lead daily huddles
- Review Shipment/Print pick lists
- Set the tone for the team and create a positive and productive work environment
- Process selected shipments
- Communicate daily goals and guide the team towards targets
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve goals
- Covering for Supervisor when they’re out of the office
- Perform daily spot checks for quality of work
- Report any team problems to Supervisor/Manager
- Troubleshoot and solve shipping problems
- Care for the health, safety and welfare of the team
- Perform team lead daily KPI reports
- Daily shift handover meetings

**Perform Other Duties**
- Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned

**Qualifications**
- College diploma or equivalent
- Diploma in International Transportation and Customs or similar accreditation is an asset
- 1-2 years of experience working in shipping and/or logistics
- Previous experience shipping through different couriers i.e. FedEx, UPS, DHL
- Knowledge of international transportation and customs is an asset
- Previous experience shipping chemicals and/or dangerous goods & knowledge of shipping requirements
- FedEx software experience is an asset
- Excellent Time Management
- well organized and deadline-oriented.
- Demonstrates high attention to detail
- Strong ability to communicate in English both written and verbal
- Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Excellent team player and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, task oriented with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Customer service oriented.
