What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Director, Client Onboarding and Business Management, the Director, Business Management, provides leadership in the planning, analysis and execution of key initiatives across Business Banking. This role will be responsible for leading and implementing new initiatives, projects, process improvements, client franchising strategies and help support ad hoc requests from senior leaders as required. This role closely collaborates with senior leaders and will interact daily with many business partners including Finance, Analytics, Product, Sales, Governance and Controls, Legal, AML and back-office functions.

How You’ll Succeed
- Key Accountabilities - Lead and execute on key projects and strategic initiatives across Business Banking in support of growth objectives, particularly with regard to the identification of key issues and creation of novel business solutions. Use data analysis to scope, evaluate and propose new client franchising opportunities across product offerings and segments. Leverage data and analytics to make recommendations on process improvements in order to enhance client and employee experience. This includes conducting research, evaluating alternatives and their associated benefits and risks and providing recommendations based on impact, effectiveness and feasibility. Represent Business Banking in enterprise-wide projects, influencing discussions and outcomes as required on behalf of Business Banking in the development and implementation of new initiatives. Remain well-informed on and anticipate new marketing opportunities, concepts and trends applicable to small business banking. Work closely with partners in Imperial Service, Personal Banking and Commercial Banking to review and develop joint processes and client journey maps ensuring they are working in an efficient and cohesive manner between lines of business to drive positive results. Support and coordinate the development of Business Banking policies, procedures, controls, and associated process metrics and analytics.
- Knowledge Development - Complete all CIBC regulatory training requirements and ensure compliance with enterprise risk and compliance programs. Review role-based and LOB communications on a regular basis to remain current on product and service information, innovation, procedures and tools. Build and maintain effective working relationships with other CIBC colleagues/partners. Build individual capabilities by participating in development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects and dedicate time to personal development as guided by your individual plan and job specific learning requirement.
- Operational Effectiveness - Protect CIBC, our clients and our shareholders by managing and minimizing the bank’s exposure to risk by ensuring compliance with regulatory activities and guidelines and by adhering to established policies, practices and procedures. Who You Are
- You have a University degree in Business (BA or BSc) or equivalent work experience.
- You have front line business or commercial banking experience in a revenue-generating customer relationship management facing role.
- You have experience developing and implementing strategic goals.
- You have strong communication skills to convey or present complex information in a simplified manner.
- You have well-developed writing skills to help prepare presentation material to senior executives.
- You have well-developed negotiation and influencing skills used to resolve distinct differences of opinion or approach; gain commitment and support desired business objectives.
- You have strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal groups and other business units within CIBC.
- You are results-oriented and consistently driving results and seamless execution.

- You're fluent in French and English to support business operations outside of Quebec, Canada.
