**Commencing**: As soon as possible

**Eight (8) month Contract (35 hours a week): January 8, 2024 - September 30, 2023**

**Compensation**:$114,746.00 pro-rated to the duration of the contract.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, Human Resources Services, the successful incumbent will be a key member of the leadership team. This position will develop proactive strategies and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Develop, recommend, and evaluate policies and procedures to support human resources strategies and plans.
- Lead or participate in department projects to develop corporate programs and plans including job evaluation, pay equity, and union negotiations.
- Lead collaboratively in all areas of the role.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of human resources staff including the development of performance objectives and plans consistent with multi-year strategic plan and objectives.
- Advise on and/or implement changes to service delivery of human resources services to corporate clients and programs
- Develop and recommend human resources strategies for core programs including recruitment and selection initiatives, compensation, and benefit plans
- Foster positive working relationships with labour groups and participate and/or lead in negotiations, grievances, mediation, and arbitration
- Coordinate work assignments and promote a team approach to enable the most effective and timely response to business needs
- Lead and manage staff including performance reviews, training and development, and team building
- Develop staffing plans and participate in the recruitment, development, and termination of staff
- Develop attendance support policies and practices
- Monitor and report on attendance trends and calculate costs to the organization
- Track and chart threshold levels for all employee groups
- Advise and support principal/supervisor related to employee relations matters.
- Design and implement programs that attract, measure, develop, and manage Bluewater staff.
- Develop, assess, and implement job descriptions within the organization inclusive of succession planning.
- Identify, define, and implement planning for leadership development.
- Design and negotiate the delivery of on-boarding programs, integration of e-Learning development tools, classroom training, action learning, group coaching, mentoring, and other best in class approaches to appeal to various learning styles.
- Support colleagues with direction, resources, tools, and materials to assist in achieving their professional and performance development goals.
- Ensure staff are aware of current legislation, standards of practice, and scope of practice
- Support the professional growth of self and others through participation in peer evaluations and attendance at education seminars, conferences, etc.
- Develop and administer compensation programs that ensure both internal and external equity as well as market competitiveness
- Administer the organization’s pay equity compliance
- Lead and manage the payroll process to meet the requirements of legislation and collective agreements
- Other duties as assigned **Qualifications and Experience**:

- University Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRL) or
- 5 years leadership experience working in a Human Resource capacity
- Applied knowledge of relevant employment legislations and regulations, such as the Employment Standards Act, Education Act, Employment Equity Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, PPM 165, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, Ontario College of Teacher Act, School Board Teacher Hiring Practices, and other applicable legislation **Assets**:
