The Market Coordinator has a key role within the core team of ByWard Market District Authority. The Market Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Markets Management in the delivery of the public markets program for both ByWard and Parkdale Public Markets. The Market Coordinator is a public facing role and is the first point of contact for customers and clients We are looking for folks who are passionate about small businesses and local products and want to work with us to promote them

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Preparing vendor permits and processing associated payments
- Provide orientation for new hires
- Support the supervision of seasonal and part-time staff
- Greet and assist visitors when they arrive at the 55 ByWard Market Square
- Monitor supplies, inventory, and place orders
- Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
- Responding to inquiries and supporting the recruitment of new vendors
- Supporting the Communications & Events Coordinator in busker programming and logistics
- Assist in updating, creating and implementing administrative policies and procedures
- Supporting the Market Managers in operational tasks

**Summary of Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a community environment such as a “farmers’ / public market”
- Experience as administrative coordinator or in a similar role
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management systems and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Reliable with patience and professionalism
- Bilingual (French/English)
- Willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
- Sound understanding of public markets, tourism and business communities
- Experience with customer service, tourism, retail and or markets are an asset

**Responsabilités principales**:

- Préparer les permis de vendeur et traiter les paiements associés
- Gérer les dossiers des vendeurs et les nouvelles demandes via le logiciel Airtable et Marketspread
- Fournir une orientation aux nouveaux employés
- Soutenir la supervision du personnel saisonnier et à temps partiel
- Accueillir et aider les visiteurs lors de leur arrivée à 55 ByWard Market Square
- Surveiller les fournitures, l'inventaire et placer les commandes
- Gérer les appels téléphoniques et la correspondance (courriel, lettres, colis, etc.)
- Soutenir les procédures de budgétisation et de comptabilité
- Répondre aux demandes de renseignements et soutenir le recrutement de nouveaux vendeurs
- Soutenir le coordonnateur des communications et des événements dans la programmation et la logistique des artistes de rue
- Aider à mettre à jour, créer et mettre en œuvre des politiques et procédures administratives
- Soutenir les gestionnaires de marché dans les tâches opérationnelles

**Résumé des qualifications**:

- Expérience de travail dans un environnement communautaire tel qu'un "marché fermier / public"
- Expérience en tant que coordonnateur administratif ou dans un rôle similaire.
- Connaissance des principes de base de la comptabilité et des systèmes et procédures de gestion de bureau.
- Excellentes compétences en communication et en relations interpersonnelles.
- Organisé(e) avec la capacité de prioriser et de multitâches.
- Fiable avec patience et professionnalisme.
- Bilingue (Français/Anglais).
- Disponible et capable de travailler à des heures irrégulières, y compris les soirées et les week-ends
- Compréhension solide des marchés publics, du tourisme et des communautés d'affaires.
- Expérience du service à la clientèle, du tourisme, du commerce de détail et/ou des marchés est un atout.
