**Overview**

This is one of the most unique, challenging and rewarding roles in the General Mills North America Foodservice business. In this role, you will be the leader of the broadline foodservice business leading our business across the country of Canada. You will own the all aspects of the business including volume, profit, share results, the development and execution of short
- and long-term growth strategies. This will be accomplished by building multi-tiered relationships that drive alignment and execution with the Canadian arm of key customers, such as Sysco and Sodexo, your broker network, and General Mills business partners in the US.

To succeed this leader will need a passion for the business, the tenacity to dig deeper for solutions, a strong understanding of the Canadian marketplace, the ability to work across multiple functions and the agility to succeed no matter the barriers.

Although the Customer Development Manager leads strategy, they have the grit to do what needs to be done to achieve success, including but not limited to setting up, working and breaking down food shows, operator calls, DSR ride withes, and leading training sessions.

The role is broad and needs a person who can engage and maximize our strong broker network, own the business relationship at major operators and distributors, and work with the US Foodservice team as an accelerant to growth in other parts of our business.

The Customer Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with internal US teams including Marketing, Finance, Trade, Sales Communication & Analytics, and Sales to fully leverage all assets that are available to maximize the growth potential of Canada.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Deliver program, exceeding volume, share and profit targets
- Ensure the maximization of the Trade budget to drive the business
- Leverage all cross functional teams and tools including Category Management, Consumer Insights, Marketing, Trade, and Field Sales activation to drive growth while staying within business guardrails.
- Understand the business via analysis of data, field gather insights, industry interaction and a keen understanding of, and ability to activate the key levers that will drive the business moving forward.
- It is expected that you will have a deep knowledge of the Canadian Foodservice Industry (distributors and operators), their business plans, go to market approach, goals, key personnel, motivators and are able to gather and activate on industry insights.
- Serve as the lead for all aspects of the General Mills Foodservice business in Canada including contract strategies and negotiations
- Work in concert with peers, including Regional Mangers, Sr NAEs both distribution and operator, to ensure strong alignment and execution of business driving initiatives
- Lead beyond the business, creating and working in concert with others to drive total NAF short
- and long-term growth
- Demands and expectations are high for this role, but the opportunity to accelerate growth across NAF by winning will be rewarding.
- This role will be the face of the General Mills Foodservice business in Canada and will be expected to be a leader in the industry.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7 years’ experience
- Ability to work independently, lead major accounts, motivate, and manage brokers
- Although remote eligible, highly preferred location is close to Greater Toronto Area
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Strong industry knowledge and relationships
- Track record of success
- Internal applicants - Must meet minimum 12-month (associate manager job band and below) or 18-month (manager job band) time in role requirement before applying

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's Degree preferred
- Fluent in French
- 10 years' experience preferred - with experience managing national business
- Proven ability to develop strategic plans, activate and deliver results
- Deep working knowledge of trade investment and trade systems
- Experience working with & influencing cross functional teams
- Project management expertise
- Ability to create and leverage relationships internally and externally
- Strong business analytics with the ability to convert information into results
- Elevated negotiations skills (GAP Negotiations Training)
