We’re looking for a Marketing & Events Associate to work collaboratively as part of our small, but mighty award-winning Marketing and Communications team

Your keen attention to detail, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and strong sense of accountability will help bring our campaigns and events to life to create lifelong members of our audiences.

Using creativity, critical thinking and writing skills, you will help create marketing plans and advertisements using a variety of media. You are unflappable with a passion for designing to engage audiences.

**About the Position**

Reporting to the Membership Marketing & Engagement Manager, you will work in our highly collaborative team developing relationships with all departments to bring creativity and cohesiveness to our marketing initiatives & brand.

Along with the rest of the Marketing & Communications team, you will play a key role in developing, creating and launching exciting initiatives that support our mission while honing your own professional skills.

**Responsibilities**:
**Marketing and Advertising**
- Assist in strategizing and developing internal marketing plans and initiatives
- Develop metrics to assess effectiveness of marketing campaigns
- Develop reports on campaign performance and success, and analyze data to
- Maintain effective relationships with external suppliers including graphic designers, printers and promotional product suppliers
- Coordinate advertisements for internal and external publications, working with all departments on content and layout
- Copywriting for print and web media
- Support and monitor the use of brand logo and ensure brand style guidelines and standards are adhered to in all materials
- Design promotional videos for upcoming events and campaigns to market CSMLS
- Assist in the design and execution of Social Media and Google advertising
- Assist and produce in designing marketing and advertising materials

**Learning & Events**
- Assist with logístical requirements of CSMLS external events including but not limited to venue, food & beverage, accommodations, registration, sponsorship, exhibit space (i.e. events hosted for CSMLS members, not internal meetings)
- Collaborate with in-house web developer to create microsites and digital promotions for LABCON (our national conference) and other member events
- Create the back-end registration process within our membership database and learning management systems
- Coordinate production of print, display (banners, booth) and promotional materials
- Create post-event surveys and compile summary reports for event and course evaluations
- Assist with virtual events - speaker recruitment, registration, inquiries, platform set up, day-of support
- Create and send speaker contracts/agreements for events including LABCON, symposia, virtual events, etc. and follow up with speakers
- Post event details to the CSMLS Social Media pages

**Requirements & Competencies**
- Post-secondary education, (Diploma/Degree), in marketing, business administration, communications or a related field of study
- 1 to 3 years of experience with marketing, graphic design, copywriting, and events (live and virtual)
- Knowledge of marketing concepts and practices including digital and physical marketing
- Demonstrated project management skills & attention to detail
- Effective listening and verbal/written communication
- Proven multi-tasking and organization skills
- Ability to creatively share ideas and concepts in a persuasive manner
- Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of search engine optimization
- Knowledge in digital and social media advertising and campaigning is an asset
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva is an asset
- Experience in document accessibility and remediation is preferred (using the Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat)
- Experience with CRM and Learning Management Systems is an asset
- Experience in a not-for-profit or membership organization an asset\
- Bilingual (French/English) an asset
