Job description
The Sales & Events Associate is responsible for booking events and negotiating contracts, collecting and confirming all event details and ensuring the banquet and kitchen staff are equipped with all necessary information to warrant a successful event.
The Sales & Events Associate is to always strive for new business as well as maintain client relationships and client satisfaction with a goal of securing long term, repeat business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales:
- Book all events at the facility including social events, weddings, meetings, tradeshows, seminars, galas, holiday parties etc.
- Contact & meet directly with clients to discuss their events & prepare notes to begin the booking process and finalize details come time for event execution
- Create contracts in Caterease for upcoming events
- Create Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in Caterease & Word for Kitchen, Banquet, & Setup Staff and update them as changes come in to ensure all departments have the most up to date information
- Work closely with the Kitchen and Banquet departments to ensure accurate information is transferred.
- Review and edit BEOs weekly to ensure all information is detailed. Also issue updates to required departments when client changes are made.
- Create & send floorplans to clients as per request (as well as for setup staff)
- Type correspondence, reports and other documents as required
- Ensure all outside equipment and rentals are arranged and booked to be on site for day of functions (i.e. Audio/Visual, etc)
- Book and arrange menu tastings if required with the client and kitchen to ensure customer satisfaction
- Attend Weekly BEO meetings with all departments to go over the upcoming weeks functions
- Research Competitors consistently to compare pricing and options
- To have a flexible 'can do' approach which will contribute to the success of the sales department of all Marquis Gardens' locations.
- The duties of this post will require weekend or evening work and will require a flexible approach to working hours.
Marketing:
- Plan and execute all in house events with the Sales Manager to ensure maximum revenues
- Maintain social media pages adding new content, sharing photos and advertising offers and inhouse hosted events
- Research appropriate places to advertise and find current rate information
- Work alongside the Sales Manager to determine betteer SEO methods if required
Salary:
From $45,000.00 per year
