SunMETA operates leading Western Canadian private colleges with multiple locations delivering diploma programs in both on-campus and online modalities in the business, health, hospitality, legal and technology fields.
**The Opportunity**
This position is part of the Marketing Department, where you'll collaborate with a dedicated and dynamic team committed to achieving shared goals.
We’re looking for an experienced SEO Specialist who is passionate about leveraging search engine optimization to enhance digital visibility and drive results. In this role, you’ll be responsible for recommending and implementing SEO strategies that ensure our educational content reaches and resonates with our target audiences.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- SEO Strategy Development: Design and execute SEO strategies that improve our website’s visibility and search engine rankings.
- Keyword Research & Analysis: Identify opportunities through comprehensive keyword research that align with our content and audience goals.
- On-Page & Off-Page Optimization: Optimize website content, meta tags, and internal linking structures, and proactively manage and expand link-building efforts to acquire high quality backlinks to enhance domain authority and search engine rankings to significantly enhance domain authority and search rankings.
- Technical SEO Management: Oversee technical SEO aspects like site structure, crawling, indexing, and schema markup to enhance user experience and search engine performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush to track SEO performance, generate insights, and refine strategies.
- Content Collaboration: Provide keyword and LSI keyword recommendations and SEO guidelines to content creators to ensure content is optimized for search engines.
- Local SEO Implementation: Develop and implement local SEO strategies to improve visibility in key geographic areas.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and algorithm updates to ensure our SEO strategies remain effective and competitive.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in SEO with proven track record of success.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics (including GA4), SEMrush, and basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and WordPress. Experience with tools such as RankMath or Yoast is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize our online presence, researching and synthesizing information from trustworthy sources, as needed.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to generate reports and present data effectively as week as collaborate effectively with writers, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation: A proactive approach, capable of managing and executing SEO strategies independently.
- Certification: Google Analytics certification is a plus but not required.
