The Department of Health establishes the Government of Alberta’s strategic direction for health, including advising government on health policy, legislation and standards, and public health concerns; monitoring and reporting health system performance; setting policies and priorities for the electronic/digital health environment; and providing oversight and ensuring accountability across the health system.

The Health Workforce Planning and Policy Branch is dedicated to ensuring that Alberta has the right people, in the right numbers, and with the right skills to meet the healthcare needs of our communities. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Strategic Policy Integration & Coordination to lead our efforts in workforce planning and policy integration.
**Role Responsibilities**:
We are seeking a strategic leader to provide expertise in Health Workforce Planning and Policy. In this key role, you will lead the development of policies and strategies that support the Ministry’s health workforce commitments, while coordinating efforts across the healthcare system.
Reporting to the Director Strategic Policy, Implementation & Coordination, the Manager, Manager, Strategic Policy Integration & Coordination is responsible for:
**Leadership & Policy Development**: Lead research, policy, and strategy development aligned with Ministry priorities in Health Workforce Planning.
**Strategic Coordination**: Oversee the implementation of strategic planning initiatives related to health workforce policies across the health system.
**Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with healthcare colleagues, including government ministries, regulatory colleges, and labour organizations, to advise the Alberta Health Workforce Strategy.
**Material Development**: Create materials to inform stakeholders and prepare briefings for senior leadership, liaising with Communications and Public Engagement and lead secretariat support to committees and working groups.
**Standards & Best Practices**: Ensure health standards and evidence-based practices are integrated into policy development, providing consultation and advice to stakeholders.
