**ABOUT THE ROLE**
We specialize in data, analytics and visualization. Our mandate is to advance York Region as a data-informed organization. Our team embraces digital standards; uses data for good and is continually developing our capability and value proposition to the organization. Our motto ‘Together, Putting Data to Work’ support the quest to ‘drive insights through trusted data’. Reporting to the Business Solutions manager, this position is responsible for providing geospatial expertise for corporate programs, other government agencies and community stakeholders. Is also responsible for delivering web mapping and data analytics services and supports the stewardship of corporate data, web mapping and data integration solutions, data analytics platforms including GIS, and analytic products.

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
- Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.
- Provides broad geospatial data and analytics expertise.
- Provides data and analytics services to corporate programs.
- Identifies opportunities and provides technical leadership to enrich data available to the organization.
- Researches and analyses business processes to identity opportunities for process redesign, automation, or other improvements.
- Designs and develops dashboards, data visualizations, and data stories, and cartographic products.
- Contributes to building technical capacity in data and analytics through the organization and partner agencies.
- Provides technical guidance of data and analytics projects and coordinates with project team members.
- Ensures operations and maintenance activities pertaining to the corporate geospatial data and analytics platform are completed.
- Leads continuous improvement activities and knowledge management effort.
- Maintains and advances corporate data and analytic toolkits to enable self-service.
- Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
- Successful completion of a College Diploma in Computer Information, Geomatics, Information Technology, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
