Regional Privacy Coordinator

**Job Description**:
Housed out of RVH, the Regional Privacy Office (RPO) provides fulsome privacy services to a variety of partners spanning across Simcoe County, Dufferin County and Muskoka.
The Regional Privacy Coordinator is responsible for ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and compliance with privacy legislative requirements for the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team (SGBOHT).
The SGBOHT is comprised of eleven anchor organizations, inclusive of Community Connection, Georgian Bay Family Health Team, Georgian Bay Family Health Organization, Hospice Georgian Triangle, Breaking Down Barriers, Canadian Mental Health Association, South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre, Bay Haven Care Community, Entité 4, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, and Home and Community Care.
Reporting to the RVH Manager, Access to Information & Regional Privacy Office, the Regional Privacy Coordinator will provide support to the SGBOHT with the following activities:
- Facilitate PHIPA and FIPPA compliance
- Liaise with external privacy consultants, lawyers, and Privacy Commissioners
- Maintain relevant privacy policies and procedures
- Ensure staff / agents are informed of privacy duties
- Audit, investigate and theme privacy breaches and incidents, including use of auditing software, which provides benefits of harmonized, robust auditing processes and follow up
- Update and maintain privacy educational materials
- Update and maintain forms, websites, posters, information pamphlets etc.
- Review contracts, Data Sharing Agreements (DSA), research, and vendor agreements to ensure privacy compliance
- Respond to inquiries from the public about information practices, requests for access and correction
- Respond to public’s requests for access to or correction of information
- Authorize release of information to third parties (insurances, Police, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Family Connections regulatory colleges, etc.)
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and participate in Threat Risk Assessments (TRA)
- Prepare presentations for Governance Boards and others as required
- Participate in committees (OHT, Digital Security, etc.)
- Additional privacy consultation and advisory services as required
Although this position will be housed out of RVH, regular travel to SGBOHT organizations is required.
**Education**:
I. Three or four year undergraduate degree required
II. Graduate of a Canadian Health Information Management Program (two year community college program) preferred
III. Certified International Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) preferred
**Experience**:
I. Three (3) years of relevant experience within a healthcare setting
II. Detailed understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the field of Healthcare
III. Detailed understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to Privacy and PHIPA and FIPPA
**Competencies**:

IX. Work independently with limited supervision, handle a heavy workload and meet short timelines
**Other**:
I. Familiarity with PHIPA, PHA, FIPPA/MFIPPA, PIPEDA
II. Experience in MS Office, Excel, MS Publisher and Meditech mandatory
III. Unless otherwise stated, minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent
IV. Demonstrates RVH Core Values and behaviours consistent with the RVH Code of Conduct
V. Must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance
