**Program: C5 North East Hub**

**Hours Part time:17.5 hours/week with the possibility of occasional weekend hours.**

**Salary: $22/hour**

**Reports to C5: Director of Strategy and Advocacy**

**Background**:
The C5 is a formal collaborative of 5 Edmonton agencies:

- Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society
- Boyle Street Community Services
- Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers
- Norwood Child and Family Resource Centre
- Terra Centre for Teen Parents

The C5 works together to advocate for the 30,000 individuals that the five agencies collectively serve, and to provide wrap around services that leverage the expertise of each agency in North East Edmonton. Collectively they run the C5 Hub, a ‘one stop shop’ for social services with a community gathering space, collective kitchen, employment hub, and early childhood development space; as well as a community market which provides free food in a grocery store setting to vulnerable Edmontonians while connecting them to other services and supports; and a youth hub in the Clareview Recreation Centre.

**SUMMARY**

**Specific Responsibilities include**:
**General**:

- Work with the C5 Director of Strategy and Advocacy and Hub leadership team to develop a communications and social media strategy that highlights the work of the C5 locations, and the C5 partnership more broadly
- Maintain and regularly update C5 communications materials including:

- The C5 website
- C5 social media platforms (facebook, Instagram, twitter)
- North East Hub cases for support
- PowerPoint presentations

Photo library
- Support the C5 staff with marketing materials for both external and internal communications including posters, flyers, etc
- Support the C5 Communications Community of Practice in their strategic plans

**Qualifications**

**Education**:
Diploma or Degree in communications, marketing, digital media, graphic design or similar; or related work experience

**Experience**:
At least two years experience supporting external communications in a volunteer or professional capacity
- Experience building and maintaining Wix websites
- Knowledge on growing social media audiences through engagement
- Experience with graphic design considered an asset
- Photography considered an asset
- Brand development experience considered an asset

**Abilities, attitudes and other requirements**:

- Experience working with Indigenous and multicultural communities and a commitment to growing your cultural learnings
- Passionate about advocating for vulnerable kids and families
- Effective interpersonal skills, strong emotional intelligence and communication abilities
- Highly organized and self-accountable
- Comfortable with trying new things, and learning and shifting practice to reflect those learnings
- Committed to strengths-based practice and working within each family’s unique cultural context
- Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
