**Job Summary**:
The Communications Coordinator contributes to and manages editorial and digital content schedules in a dynamic and collaborative environment with attention to detail and agility. The Coordinator also develops engaging content for a wide variety of channels including websites, social media, marketing platforms and editorials.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Maintains weekly and monthly editorial and digital content schedules and ensures information and visual identity is current and consistent across all digital and traditional external and internal channels.
- Routinely liaises across the Communications Division to keep track of communications plans, media and marketing activities to ensure strategic alignment.
- Uses performance management tools to regularly track and assess internal and external communications performance, user accessibility and experience.
- Supports media and social media monitoring, analyzes emerging issues and submits reports.
- Maintains divisional priority work plans, tracks approvals to ensure publishing timelines are met, and assists with major planning initiatives and events.
- Coordinates and assists in the preparation for and delivery of internal and external events.
- Participates in communications team on-call schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Digital Media, Marketing or equivalent discipline(s).
- One to two years of practical and progressive communications experience in a large organization delivering regular content across multiple channels.
- Ability to develop and maintain large schedules and work plans and deliver updates to various audiences in preferred formats.
- Highly organized with the capacity to multi-task, work under tight timelines and pivot quickly when necessary.
- Takes initiative to analyze and make recommendations that improve divisional processes and activities.
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge in current and emerging digital communications best practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and/or 365 skills.
- Knowledge of social media content management and publishing systems, including Hootsuite.
- Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt tone and voice for platforms and audiences with a proven ability to create engaging content.
- Keen eye for graphic design and visual communications.
- Approach challenges with positivity and a focus on solutions.

**Preferred**
- Basic knowledge of website content management systems, including Kentico and Sharepoint, and basic website skills (e.g., content updates).
- Basic knowledge of graphic design programs, including Adobe InDesign.
- Knowledge of the Halton community and understanding of government priorities.
