**Finance Manager**

**(Full-Time Position)**

**Minimum qualifications, ALL of which must be met in order to be considered for the position**:

- Bachelor’s degree in financial management, such as Financial Management Certificate Program, or equivalent.
- Professional accounting designation CPA - CA, CGA, CMA, issued by a Canadian Accounting Association, or equivalent.
- _(note: if your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association)_
- Experience in general finance and administration policies and processes, financial reporting, systems and controls, including financial operations and policy management.
- Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
- Ability to determine efficient procedures and implement accounting and control mechanisms.
- Experience in financial forecasting, supporting budget evaluation processes for multiple business areas.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, practices, procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge in accounts payable and procurement processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing financial and accounting statements, developing financial reports, and conducting business case analysis with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Government legislation and regulations such as the Financial Information Act, Government Accountability Act, etc.
- Knowledge of relevant BC Provincial Government policies, practices, procedures, and processes.
- Capacity to manage a deadline driven and detail-oriented workload, including an ability to prioritize workload efficiently and under pressure.
- Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to solve and communicate complex issues effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Dedication to providing excellent customer service and fostering positive relationships with internal customers, external suppliers, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to identify, develop, and recommend changes to procedures to ensure consistency of use and improve customer service.
- Exercise a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software, including ability to create statistical reports in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices, traditions and contemporary issues affecting Indigenous peoples, preferably Métis and a willingness to learn.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

**Experience**:

- Two years of administrative experience, preferably in a finance-related role.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations or communities is an asset.
- Supervisory experience is an asset.

This position is excluded from union membership and includes benefits and pension upon successful completion of probationary period. Hourly rate is $45.00 to $55.00 dollars an hour based on experience and education. Normal schedule of work is 35 hours per week, performed Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Schedule to be set in collaboration with the Executive Director and based on program need.
