**About this job**:
Our client, a leading Automotive Dealership, is looking for an experienced Controller to become an integral part of a dynamic team. The dealerships are located in Ottawa’s east end and are recognized as industry leaders and top performers in the region. This position is permanent full-time and is in person.

Key responsibilities include overseeing and leading a team of accounting clerks, managing daily operations, analyzing data and making appropriate recommendations to senior management as well as strategic planning. Our stores utilize QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions for it's accounting processes.

This is a permanent, full time and in-person position. We are looking to welcome a team member who wants to be part of the management team, have a say at the table and can elevate our financial reporting and analytical capabilities.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the finance or accounting role.
- Proven leadership abilities with a demonstrated history of nurturing a team-oriented environment and promoting a culture of high performance.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of conducting in-depth financial analysis and providing insightful recommendations to support business decisions.
- CA/CGA/CPA designation is a definite asset.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead and inspire the accounting team, ensuring day-to-day excellence within the dealership
- Maintain the utmost accuracy of monthly accounting data, guaranteeing the integrity of financial records
- Prepare comprehensive internal and external financial statements, displaying your expertise
- Analyze statements and reports to identify areas of concern and potential growth opportunities
- Provide financial support to the management team, including customized internal reports and insightful analysis
- In collaboration with our auditors, prepare year-end documentation for Audits
- Conduct regular maintenance and review of all accounts and schedules to uphold accuracy
- Contribute to other projects and assignments, embracing new challenges
