They are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead their accounting function and drive the financial success of the Company.


They are looking for a Controller who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial well-being of their organization by overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the President/Owner, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing budgets and forecasts, and delivering insightful financial reports to drive strategic decision-making. This hands-on position requires a process-minded professional with superior organizational and documentation skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to work independently.

As a Controller, you will:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
  • Be a business partner to the rest of the company by analyzing data and creating reports to advise and inform stakeholders.
  • Make and receive payments and complete bank reconciliations timely as well as maintaining relationships with our bankers.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Develop, document and implement business process improvements, including optimization of an ERP system.
  • Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and financial forecasts, providing analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain cash flow forecasting to ensure efficient management of working capital.
  • Prepare financial reports for the President, providing insights on company performance, variances, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate the preparation of tax filings.
  • Support internal controls and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for business initiatives.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (accounting designation is an asset).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of ASPE and IFRS and accounting principles.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
