SUMMARY

The Finance Specialist is a member of the Accounting team who works closely with our Account Services and Experience teams to ensure the company’s finance function is organized, effective, and efficient. The goal of the Accounting team is to produce timely and accurate information that helps direct and drive company outperformance. Our Accounting team is part of our Shared Services department, which also comprises of People and Culture, IT and Operations. Our main goal within Shared Services is to empower and enable our teammates to outperform.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prepare monthly client invoices as necessary, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client agreements and billing terms.

Review billing and ensure alignment with client budget, addressing any discrepancies or instances of exceeding the budget.

Record journal entries as necessary to correctly reflect financial transactions in the accounting system.

Build new reports and tools as needed to support financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Analyze financial statements and ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.

Work on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliations, ensuring that financial records are accurately closed and reported.

Collaborate cross-functionally on training best practices related to financial processes and systems, sharing expertise, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Post-Secondary Degree and/or Certificate in Accounting or Business Administration

2+ years of relevant accounting experience

Experience in a job cost environment is an asset

Understanding of accounting processes and procedures

Demonstrate proficiency in engaging with external clients and vendors

Experience in Sage Intacct is an asset

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
