Also eligible for extended medical insurance, profit sharing, and opportunities for professional development.Salary: $ 77,000 CAD / yearDuties:Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant, and barDetermine type of services to be offered and implement operational proceduresControl inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and pricesNegotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other suppliesNegotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for eventsChampions the brand’s vision and values and contribute to maintaining a strong culture and healthy working environmentCost Management: daily invoices, prudent decision makingLabour Management: appropriate staffing levels to achieve highest service standardsPOS Programming: POS must be updated with current menu, ensure proper modifiers listed for ease of communication with kitchenIdentify consistently low selling items and think of ways to boost sales (promos, pre-shift knowledge, staff tasting)Restaurant Tech (clover/SW/etc.): execute roll outs and overall support tech initiatives with suggested improvements and learningsPrepare and implement standard operating procedures, coordinate restaurant operations during each shift, determine and implement operating improvementsManage all aspects of staff performance in accordance with established service standards, ensure staff knows and adheres to established steps of service and service standardsControl Profit & Loss (i.e., plan attainment) by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actionsMonitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards within location, ensure compliance with restaurant security procedures, inclusive of alcohol regulations, ensure a safe working environment by facilitating safe work behaviours of the team and guests, maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; comply with health and legal regulationsMaintain restaurant cleanliness and uphold aesthetic standardsOrganize and create venue leadership schedules for approval. Monitor staff schedules and ensure that budgeted labour costs are metMaintain accountability for all internal controls around invoices, cash and other payments handling and proceduresInteract with guests to ensure all inquiries, guest recovery and complaints are handled promptly, providing a best-in-class guest experienceCreate and maintain a PX listExecute on marketing and promotional activities, in coordination with our Marketing TeamAppropriately adapt to seasonal changes and create and manage relevant initiativesArrange for maintenance and repairs of equipment and servicesEnsure repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance plan for the spaceRecruit, interview, and hire team members; conduct performance appraisals, take disciplinary action, motivate and trainAssesses staffing requirements on a continuous basis to identify current needsReview weekly reservations and eventsHost and lead weekly manager meetingsRequirements:Completion of a college diploma or certificate in hospitality or food and beverage service management is requiredThree (3) + years of management or supervisory experience in the restaurant industry is requiredExperience in upscale dining environments is considered an assetSmart Serve Certification or ability to obtain is requiredExcellent communication skillsAbility to work extended hours and comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing and walking for duration of shiftsKnowledge of various operational systems.
