Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Regional Business Development Manager – Federal. In this role, you will be responsible for the business development and performance of growing Convergint Government Solutions (CGS) and brand for Convergint across multiple territories focused on Federal Government. You will provide leadership towards the achievement of sales growth and maximum profitability in line with company vision and values, and establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the sales/marketing area and contributes to the development of Convergint’s market leadership providing advanced security solutions and service.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy by identifying key decision makers and departments; by focusing sales pursuits that ensures attainment of Convergint sales goals and profitability. Success is measured in growing Convergint brand and revenue in both the NCR (National Capital Region) and national. Provides input beyond own territories and adds to the Convergint corporate sales strategy.
  • Create and maintain an Executive Summary of Convergint “Value Proposition” which identifies services offered and range of technologies considered. Identifies major competitors and articulates differentiators.
  • Identify, establish and maintain appropriate relationships across Convergint, technology and channel partners to engage in an effective manner in efforts to develop business in the public-sector market. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining “Relationship Map” for entire target market. Should identify opinion makers. Decision makers, technical and procurement authorities. Also, should maintain status of each relationship identified. 
  • Develop and maintain appropriate communication materials to support the communication of Convergint Value Proposition to targeted officials. Develop Communications strategy and plan to accomplish business development goals.
  • Identify Procurement vehicle strategy for effectively selling into the Public Sector. Ensure necessary procurement vehicles are established and maintained. Lead development of procurement strategies by identifying and leading the qualification of Convergint on National Standing Offers.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of “go-to-market” strategy and action plans to penetrate national public-sector markets.
  • Responsible for creating, monitoring and revising lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline. Finds new and creative ways of engaging with customers. Responsible for capturing the attention of potential customers and presenting new solutions and services that Convergint has to offer. 
  • Works collaboratively with other Convergint offices to develop pursuit plans for individuals as well as for team for effective search of CGS leads and prospects. Ensures that customers are informed of new product/service introductions and prices.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to grow NCR/national public-sector markets.
  • Lead development of procurement strategies by identifying and leading the qualification of Convergint on National Standing Offers. 
  • Works with team to provide competitive pricing on proposals and strives to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses. Assists Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Manages budget and improves forecasting accuracy for sales function and projects, ensures cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with Convergint colleagues (Ops, Legal, Finance etc.) to ensure jobs are planned and executed properly.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

  • Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret) preferred, or ability to be cleared
  • Strong leadership and inter-relationship skills and qualities
  • Highly energetic and results-oriented, strong team player and communicator with an ability to work under pressure in a structured environment.
  • Conversant with Advanced Enterprise Solutions /Systems; with a proven ability to communicate relevance and their value propositions.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and outstanding presentation skills required.

  • Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of successful sales experience, including two years in the area of Public Sector and Commercial [electronic security] required, experience with Federal Government sales and procurement preferred.
