Clinical Project Support Services (CPSS) delivers high-impact project management services within AHS, with a focus on the Program Improvement & Integration Networks (PINs). We are seeking an experienced and dynamic project manager to facilitate clinical projects that will drive quality improvement. Reporting to the CPSS Program Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for project management activities on various AHS clinical projects. The successful candidate will apply project management tools and practices and produce project management plans, schedules and other required project outputs. Build business area knowledge with clients, and monitors project performance to ensure success. Establish relationships with multidisciplinary teams to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with clinicians and manages client expectations regarding project management support.
Reporting to the CPSS Program Manager, the Project Manager (PM) leads project management activities across all stages of a project, spanning project initiation through closure. The PM applies project management methodology and expertise to engage diverse teams and facilitate effective solutions. The PM is committed to quality improvement and appropriately applies change management and process improvement principles, knowledge and expertise. The PM works within a team-based, matrix reporting environment. The PM seeks guidance from the CPSS Project Manager and project leadership appropriately for complex and/or unfamiliar situations. The PM role requires depth and breadth of knowledge and skill, while familiarity with healthcare environments contributes to success in the position. Key responsibilities include: Lead end-to-end project management activities, ensuring alignment with CPSS standards and methodologies. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables. Engage and build relationships with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, to manage expectations and ensure project success. Apply change management processes in project planning and execution.
Post-secondary degree in a health care profession, business or related field. Relevant project management specific education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in project management, including knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies.
Experience with coordinating/leading teams through facilitation/coordination of project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute. Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Proven ability to foster relationships with varied internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Three years of experience in a healthcare organization. Experience working directly with clinicians and communicating with health care professionals and executives. Experience leading projects within a healthcare organization. Training in change management and health services planning is an asset. Skill in critical thinking and problem solving. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge Facilitation skills.
