JK Environmental Services provides clients with peace of mind through the delivery of hazardous materials management and removal, and a range of other specialist environmental support services.
**Position Overview**
The Project Manager is the primary point-person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance to specifications. To achieve these important goals, the Project Manager will define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members. The Project Manager will be responsible for the bidding process to acquire new work/projects. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each projects lifecycle. The Project Manager strives to achieve company objectives through effective communication with businesses, home owners and consultants while maintaining a balance between cost, time, quality and safety.
**Responsibilities**
- Manages multiple asbestos projects/jobs and is the primary contract for those projects.
- Attend the job site to view scope, meet with clients and consultants to discuss details of abatement project.
- On-site estimation for residential and commercial asbestos abatement. Site visits must include photos, complete measurements, include all requirements necessary for estimates
- Prepare bids/RPFs to bring on new projects.
- Scheduling, cost determination and quality assurance of all projects.
- Completing estimates using approved standardized JK Environmental standardized forms and submitting all estimates to General Manager for final approval / sign-off.
- Manage contracts accordingly.
- Coordinates, schedules all logistics between multiple sites.
- Coordinates with dispatch with work assignments for employees.
- Monitors project milestones to ensure projects are on track.
- Direct sub-trades and personnel based on predetermined parameters which includes job setup, timelines, employee performance expectations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Coaching supervisors on projects.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Seeks a balance between time, cost and quality constraints.
- Market JK Environmental Services to grow network.
- Reallocate resources across multiple projects where necessary; identify and resolve any resource allocation discrepancies.
- Adhere to established methodologies for project management.
- Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects; deliver these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
- Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary.
- Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
- Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
- Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.
- Complete walk thru upon project completion.
**Qualifications**
- 5-7 years asbestos abatement/project management experience.
- Valid and current Alberta Asbestos Certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of the construction process, building code, and safety code.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, presentation and listening.
- Strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, resources and multiple projects.
- Flexible and adaptable to rapid change.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in composing and proofing written materials
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- A basic understanding of accounting and budgeting principles is required
- Must be professional, organized, and efficient
- Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
- Ability to assess corporate climate, socio-economic factors, trends, and other criteria to determine chances of project success.
- Intuitive grasp of organizational structure in order to manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation.
- Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills.
- Superb creation and facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings in order to create consensus among stakeholders.
- Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
