Job Information

As the Manager, Teacher Certification and Professional Development, you will be responsible for the provision of Northwest Territories teacher certification and teacher salary evaluation services, including administration of the Educator Certification and Learning Management platforms, as well as the provision of territory-wide professional development activities to meet departmental, educational and instructional goals and objectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective development, implementation, and evaluation of teacher certification and salary evaluation services for all NWT educators. You will also ensure ongoing access to a range of professional learning opportunities for all Northwest Territories educators, ensuring that professional development and instructional improvement activities are of high quality, consistent with departmental goals, objectives, philosophies and standards, and meet identified instructional needs. In this position, you will have three (3) direct reports and will control a budget of up to $500,000, with spending authority of up to $20,000 and contract authority up to $200,000.

To be successful in this role, you will typically need a Degree in Education or a related field, and five (5) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience.
