About the Role
An Account Director at Operatic Agency is critical to driving client growth, building client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of a positive ROI for our clients. This role goes beyond day-to-day execution, playing a vital role in the enforcement of processes and the improvement of account and financial health. Reporting to the Associate Director of Strategy and Client Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and executing high-level strategic initiatives, leading an Account Supervisor or Account Manager, and fostering client relationships. You’ll ultimately ensure market-leading work and clear, insightful reports are delivered to your roster of clients. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating marketing strategy and delivering exceptional results in a dynamic agency environment.
- Trusted strategic resource on clients, their brands, their markets and their competitors
- Understand client objectives and drive strategic marketing plans that deliver a positive ROI for our clients and agency
- Lead desk research to understand audience traits and behaviours that guide strategic recommendations
- Lead the creation of clear, comprehensive briefs to ensure team alignment with client objectives
- Lead collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client projects
- Ensure the delivery of concise and accurate notes, contact reports, status reports and financial tracking
- Oversee the maintenance of up-to-date work-back schedules
- Drive campaign performance and provide regular and insightful reports to clients, outlining key opportunities for growth and demonstrating the value of our work
- QA all client deliverables to ensure market-leading work that aligns with client objectives
- Oversee client communication while continuing to deepen client relationships
- Develop and lead clear, insightful presentations to clients and internal stakeholders
- Grow accounts and generate new opportunities through solid results, the creation of case studies, the generation of testimonials and referrals, relationship building and networking
- Participate in new business pitches
- Solid understanding of marketing and brand strategy, analytics, CMS, UX, SEO, local optimization, digital and traditional advertising, and social media
- Continually stay informed about marketing/advertising/technology best practices to improve personal, team, and agency-wide capabilities
- Use data-driven insights to improve client ROI and identify opportunities for account growth
- Drive project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to deliver a positive ROI for clients while maintaining agency profitability
- Oversee the implementation of operational systems, which include creating and maintaining notes, contact reports, status reports, project briefs, SOWs and estimates/underpinning, financial tracking and work-back schedules
- Accountable for ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations, aligning with the vision, mission and values of the agency
- Manage client concerns accordingly in order to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention
- Responsible for onboarding new account team members into the agency and briefing them on client accounts
- Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to an Account Manager or Account Supervisor
- Balance team empowerment with the ability to identify challenges and provide guidance as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role (i.e. Account Director, Sr. Account Supervisor)
- Self-motivation and the ability to independently execute with minimal supervision in a fast-paced agency environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong strategic abilities that will help win new business, move the needle against client KPI’s and provide consistent forward-thinking that adds value
- Proven track record of successfully managing accounts and delivering complex and market-leading projects on time and within budget
- Confidence in leading client communications
- Understanding key drivers of agency growth, targets, and new business strategy
- A drive to develop range by learning new skills that expand your expertise
- Certifications in any of the following:
- • Analytics
- • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- • Social Media Marketing (SMM)
- • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
- Certifications in project management or account management (e.g. PMP, AMI)
- Experience overseeing and managing digital products (i.e. web development)
- Experience or certifications in email marketing
