Position:

The Retail Sales department at Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Manager, Inside Sales Reporting to the Vice-President, Head of Inside Sales; the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Inside Sales Representatives and will have the following primary responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and advise the daily activities of Inside Sales Representatives including but not limited to: performance management, goal setting, job evaluations, developing and mentoring team members, ensuring proper sales coverage while managing group culture to ensure a cohesive and motivated team environment.
  2. Provide leadership, coaching, and development strategies in order to achieve overall effectiveness of advisor communications and ensure consistent application of the Mackenzie Investments sales processes and tools.
  3. Conduct bi-weekly call coaching through side-by-side sessions, preparing summaries and addressing opportunities for improvement as well as identifying level of product knowledge around both internal and competitive offerings.
  4. Develop individualized/customized coaching plans and offer advice on selling style approach when needed.
  5. Monitor calling activity of assigned Inside Sales Representatives, ensuring high quality Advisor interactions.
  6. Liaise with Wholesaling team leads to identify educational and coaching opportunities.
  7. Manage continuous improvement activities of the Inside Sales function, finding opportunities to improve performance through ongoing productivity enhancements.
  8. Participate in discussions with product marketing to develop action plans during product launches or material changes to existing offerings.
  9. Develop and reinforce “Sales Play” materials for Inside Sales Team as needed.
  10. Interact with senior management, developing and delivering regular performance reports.
  11. Human resource management, including coaching, hiring, performance management, compensation recommendations, training, and career development.
  12. Work closely with Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver-based counterparts to share information, implement standard processes, and achieve shared objectives.

The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:

  1. Extensive mutual fund industry background, including product knowledge, knowledge of the securities industry, and the stock and bond markets and at least two years of management experience in mutual funds or related industry.
  2. Experience as an Inside Sales Representative.
  3. Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  4. Creative thinker with the ability to exercise sound judgment in responding to questions and making decisions.
  5. Team player who works cooperatively with the Sales and Marketing teams and other areas to meet our customers’ needs.
  6. Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast-paced organization.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Post-secondary education in a relevant business discipline.
  10. Successful completion of the CSC or passed level 1 CFA; a university degree is required.
  11. Travel may be required.
