Position Overview

Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that works on projects involving the construction of oil & gas facilities such as oil sands processing, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (e.g., LNG, LPG), and major mine developments.

Location

This position will be based in Edmonton, AB or the Elkford, BC area. We have several opportunities across Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project
  • Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project
  • Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
  • Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews
  • Perform quantity calculations and determine percentage of completed/installed materials
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
  • Assist in field surveying and work layout support
  • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews and meetings
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting
  • Assist Engineers in data preparation for submittal or transmittal
  • Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Assist in schedule maintenance and updates
  • Assist with data entry into the job cost system
  • Assist in generating change orders and as-built data
Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years' construction field experience
  • Work experience in engineering and leading engineers
  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies in engineering plans
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with strong organization and time management skills
