Field Law has an opening for a Training Specialist to join our CMIS Team at Field Law. This position will be based out of the Edmonton office.

The Training Specialist's role is to develop and deliver training programs to all four (4) Field Law offices (Calgary, Canmore, Edmonton, and Yellowknife). This position requires a person who is interested in the end-user and takes ownership of Fielders’ ability to use technology effectively in their daily activities. On-going interaction and communication with the end-user community is necessary to determine appropriate training needs, establish a rapport, and gauge the satisfaction of our programs. In addition, a person must contribute to a positive, professional, respectful, and cooperative environment.

**Duties + Responsibilities**:

- Develop expert-level knowledge in all firm-standard software, including new products and product upgrades as introduced, as well as related policies, procedures and best practices.
- Using standard procedures coordinate the logistics of learning sessions: publish classes, schedule/reschedule students, reserve training facilities and maintain course content and evaluations.
- Assess the needs of learners to recommend individualized learning plans through the analysis of student workflow and necessary technical competencies compared to existing skills sets. These would include individualized learning objectives, learning events, and metrics for success, delivery method and appropriate schedule.
- Consult with Fielders to identify technology challenges, understand workflow and make recommendations on best use of technology to meet needs.
- Interact closely with Fielders to gauge interest in, and satisfaction with, current training programs. Coordinate user/pilot groups to solicit feedback from the end-user community.
- Research best practices, advancements, and trends in adult education to identify opportunities for incorporating them in the training program.
- Influence and support change at individual and organizational levels with respect to capacity, readiness, resilience, and engagement through the facilitation of training.
- Update and maintain training documentation in line with Field policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to managers and supervisors regarding trainees' performance and development and make recommendations for improvement.

**Qualifications + Skills**:

- 1+ years of experience training in the legal industry (technical training experience may be considered in lieu of legal industry experience)
- Experience writing and formatting training materials and user documentation
- Eagerness to grow, learn and improve, and help all members of the firm improve their use of firm tools
- A strong passion for continuous process improvement and innovation
- The ability to work in a highly collaborative, transparent and team-focused environment
- Strong analytical skills to understand, document, and communicate complex processes
- A foundational understanding of technology and how technology can be used for automation, collaboration, and improvements in efficiency

**Working Conditions**:

- Normal week-day office hours (35 per week)
