The Opportunity:

The Business Manager (Strategic Assistant to the CEO) will directly support the CEO by managing the logistics of the CEO's daily work, including preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders, interacting with clients, attending client meetings, crafting communications for leadership and board updates, and interacting with various stakeholders to drive agendas for various events and/or meetings.

This role will drive strategic initiatives and ensure efficient execution of the CEO's agenda and projects. The Business Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and partner, enabling the CEO to focus on high-priority tasks and contribute to the organization's long-range planning and vision.

A Day in the Life (What you will do here):

  • Be the key support person to the CEO by assisting with prioritization and management of workload.
  • Work closely with the CEO, keeping them informed on relevant issues, commitments, and responsibilities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO and other business partners.
  • Work closely with the CEO’s Senior EA on prioritizing incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO.
  • Use initiative, diplomacy, and tact to solve problems and delegate issues as appropriate.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret documents/emails for the CEO and produce briefings.
  • Co-ordinate and assist the CEO with drafting documents for Board meetings.
  • Attend ad-hoc meetings and produce minutes/recordings for tracking and follow up on action items.
  • Ensure content for meetings/agendas are prepared, relevant, and will be followed up on.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the CEO in terms of high priority projects and action plans.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute on organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients; attend client meetings, prepare communications and presentations.
  • Prepare written communication for leaders/executive/employees on behalf of the CEO.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Represent the CEO’s office at regional and national events as required.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and participate in executive projects.
  • Build a great culture and foster a positive workplace environment.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as may be relevant to the role.

What you need to ensure you are set up for success:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline required - MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting a CEO or other Executive roles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate executive presence and experience in managing high-touch relationships.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical thinking abilities.
  • High degree of work ethic to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to deliver high quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
