The impact you'll make:
We are hiring a visionary Director, Digital Experience to helm our dynamic digital team across all of Loblaw content marketing experiences, from ideation and creation to publishing and maintenance. This role will be responsible for the creation of diverse digital experiences in grocery, healthcare, loyalty, and apparel, managing a team of 38 talented individuals, spanning creative services, production, and project management.
The Director of Digital Experience will spearhead our efforts across our core digital properties which include an array of websites and several native mobile apps. This role is tailored for a leader who thrives in managing stakeholder relationships across multifaceted business environments, aligning project priorities, and ensuring the flawless execution and quality of digital projects, while getting results. If you possess a keen eye for creative excellence, a robust skill set in project management, and a strategic mindset, your leadership can drive our digital experience to new heights. This role reports to the Sr. Director, User Experience, and is a 14-month maternity leave backfill.
What you'll do
- Leadership and Team Management: Direct a large team encompassing creative services (copywriting, content design, graphic design), production (CMS operations, content uploading and scheduling), and project management (project and stakeholder intake, collaboration, and management). Lead and advance the orchestration and optimization of people, process, and craft.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for digital marketing creation and publishing across all of Loblaw eCommerce and non-transactional digital properties, as well as lead the Loblaw Digital Employer Brand strategy to support the development and execution of best-in-class candidate and colleague experience. Ensure projects align with overall business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget. Work to identify given project dependencies, define detailed business requirements and resources, and proactively identify project issues and risks
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the digital experience team and internal stakeholders across various business units. Ensure alignment on project priorities, roadmaps, and outcomes. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams. Work with external partners to support our Employer Brand objectives.
- Creative Oversight: Oversee the creative direction of digital content, ensuring it aligns with brand standards and marketing goals. Champion innovative design and content strategies that enhance user and colleague experience and engagement.
- Quality Assurance and Site Stability: Ensure the highest quality of creative outputs and maintain 100% coverage for site stability and content updates. Implement best practices for digital project management and content publishing.
- Accessibility Reporting and Compliance: This role is responsible for regular reporting on the AODA compliance across our digital properties, and working with our Accessibility lead to address any gaps in compliance.
- Product Thinking and Analytical Insight: While primarily focused on creative and project management, this role requires some involvement in product management, analytics, and strategic thinking to ensure digital experiences meet user needs and business goals.
- Innovation and Trends: Stay abreast of new trends in technology (including opportunities for generative AI) and in the industries we compete in (Health, eCommerce, Grocery, Loyalty). Encourage the adoption of new ideas and technologies to continually elevate the digital experience for our customers.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large, cross-functional teams in a digital or creative environment
- Strong background in digital marketing, content strategy, and creative direction
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to align diverse teams and business units
- Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing successful digital roadmaps
- Familiarity with digital analytics, product management concepts, and agile methodologies
- Exceptional communication, organization, and project management skills
- Superior business acumen to understand business drivers, challenges, and potential obstacles or risks
