Job Title: Digital Director

Loblaw Digital is seeking a highly skilled Digital Director to lead our team in building and operating the online businesses of Canada's largest retailer. As a technical leader, you will assist the team in designing, developing, and maintaining a world-class digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and software development managers in designing, developing, integrating, and testing services and platforms.
  • Ensure consistent and timely delivery of new digital experiences across multiple web interfaces while driving good application design, scalability, development velocity, predictability, and quality.
  • Communicate project status and issues in a concise and accurate manner to executives.
  • Collaborate with multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver complex features.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Plan and manage multiple parallel projects.
  • Work with the product management team to continuously improve our product development methodologies.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Senior Software Management or Director, Software Development level role, preferably in the retail media or Ad tech business.
  • Experience managing Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers (direct reports).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of agile principles and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • A true leader who enables and inspires their team to do their best work and demonstrates a history of building high-performance development teams.
