Employee Relations Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As an essential member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing employee relations cases that require specialized expertise and knowledge of our Code of Conduct, HR policies, employment law, and business lines/subsidiaries/countries.

About the Role
  • This is a remote role with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
  • You will act as a subject matter expert, providing value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners, ensuring global consistency and alignment to established governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.

In this role, you will understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, ensuring teams meet obligations while respecting operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.

The successful candidate will champion a high-performance environment and contribute to a team environment that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates others by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy.

Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or another related field is required.
  • Proficiency in French is necessary.
  • A CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret collective agreements (international) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong report writing and presentation skills, are necessary.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office products are required.
  • Internal training to support your growth and enhance your skills will be provided.

Compensation Package: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
