Reporting to our CFO and Assistant Controller, you’ll delve into all things tax-related, manage day-to-day financial activities, and support strategic financial planning. If you have a passion for tax, you'll find countless learning opportunities in a rewarding and dynamic environment

As a Tax and Financial Analyst/Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Duties:

  • Assisting with and reviewing LMG's group of entities’ monthly and year-end processes, such as reconciliations, inventory counts, fixed/capital assets, general ledger reconciliations and audits
  • Researching, registering, and preparing domestic and foreign government obligations and opportunities, including sales tax, income tax, tax credits, audits, etc.
  • Preparing SR&ED tax credits, film tax credits, duty drawback claims
  • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles following ASPE accounting standards
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data such as revenue and expenditure variances to produce financial reports and suggest improvements
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for improving systems, procedures, and financial impact, helping to streamline operations and maintain efficiency
  • Budgeting and cash management to support organizational growth and meet financial accounting objectives, including foreign exchange forecasting

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in accounting or a related field
  • CPA designation or equivalent, or current CPA program enrolment
  • Proven working experience in an accounting office with a complete yearly accounting cycle
  • Interest in sales and use tax, income tax, etc.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and QuickBooks
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and an analytical mindset ready to proactively solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and manage multiple projects, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team or independently

Compensation:

For this position, the typical hiring salary range falls between CAD $70,000 and $100,000 per year. The base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills and experience. LMG's compensation structure is rooted in a performance and merit-based approach that acknowledges the performance of both the individual and the team.
