Who You Are

As a Level 1 Technician at GAM Tech, you are the frontline hero for our clients, addressing their IT challenges with patience, expertise, and a service-first attitude. You possess a foundational knowledge of IT support, networks, and computer systems. With an eagerness to learn and a problem-solving mindset, you'll help keep our business operations running smoothly. You are a team player who values collaboration but can also work independently. Your excellent communication skills and dedication to customer satisfaction are essential as you'll be helping our clients navigate technical issues every day..

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Level 1 Technician, you'll be the initial point of contact for client IT issues, responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical problems through phone, email, or live chat. Your day-to-day tasks include setting up workstations, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with hardware and software installations. You'll document client interactions meticulously, escalate complex issues to senior staff, and contribute to our knowledge base. You'll be expected to stay abreast of new technologies, contributing to the team with your growing expertise, and ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in IT, computer science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and office software.
  • Basic understanding of network configuration, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or similar is an asset.
  • Proven ability to document processes and create clear, user-friendly guides and reports.
  • Hands-on experience with IT Service Management software and remote desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure a secure IT environment.
  • Capacity to work in a team setting, as well as independently, with a proactive attitude.
  • Previous experience in a helpdesk or customer support role is highly regarded.
  • Availability for on-call or after-hours support as needed to maintain systems and assist clients.
