We are seeking a creative, highly organized Corporate Events Lead to help us manage & execute events that generate brand awareness, build business relationships, and boost employee morale. You will be responsible for end-to-end event management, including conceptualizing ideas for the events, creating, and enforcing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, coordinating, communicating with clients, and ultimately ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

You will be responsible for managing:

  • Internal Events: Heart Month, Staff BBQ, Service Awards, Christmas, 35th Anniversary Events, Halloween
  • External Events: golf tournaments, galas, association events
  • Be an influencer for any additional events and manage all sponsorships and donations.
  • Company award submissions
  • Assist Marketing Manager with tradeshows.
  • Progression for this role includes ownership of tradeshows and buying group events.

Event Management

  • Meet with event stakeholders to gain an understanding of the event's purpose and goals.
  • Outline the scope of the event, including time, date, location, and budget.
  • Manage the budget and ensure the event stays within guidelines; ensure vendors are paid.
  • Research vendors and make selections based on creativity, quality, and cost.
  • Ensure that the day of logistics is scheduled, organized, and executed.
  • Develop content for event materials and work with a graphic designer to produce.
  • Hire personnel as needed across all functions of an event (registration, set up, catering, audio/visual, etc.).
  • Track all event costs, details, and assets.
  • End-to-end event management for all assigned events.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

  • Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Communications Design, or Business.
  • Event planning accreditation is an asset.

EXPERIENCE / CAPABILITIES

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in an event-focused role.
  • Good computer skills with programs such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, and MailChimp.
  • Willingness to work longer hours and on weekends and public holidays as needed.
  • Travel is required for some events.
