ACCOUNTABILITIES


Event Management – (40%)

  • Strategic planning to ensure events have ROI, meet goals, and are mapped out and budgeted.
  • Full budgeting responsibility and cost tracking to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Manage large-scale tradeshow booths and events, working with agencies on concept, design, build, and deployment.
  • Coordinate and manage all external company events (Awards, Galas, Association events, tradeshows).
  • Responsible for all sponsorship and collaboration opportunities, selecting those that provide ROI and align with strategic goals.
  • Work with the internal events committee on all employee brand events (e.g., Service Awards, Staff BBQs, Christmas).
  • Manage and organize the events calendar and event plans.
  • Foster creative ideas and implementation for events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.
  • Arrange for all photos, videos, and full pre and post-event PR and advertising activities.
  • Review and report on events to identify gaps and areas for improvement, track successes, and use this information to build a strategic events plan for the following year.


Merchandising – (40%)

  • Full Cycle Merchandising - planning, ordering, distributing, maintaining and tracking all promotional/collateral/miscellaneous items.
  • Ensuring that merchandise is properly organized and tracked.
  • Handling merchandising needs for all business units of the company.
  • Properly planning out yearly and monthly promotional need strategies.
  • Implementing and creating a merchandising system that can be rolled out to customer channels.
  • Working with vendors to get quotes and negotiate prices (print, promotional, etc.)
  • Basic design abilities for mock-ups and other miscellaneous projects.
  • Bringing creative options to the team and thinking outside the box.


Admin – (20%)

  • Entering all event and merchandising related purchase requisitions and invoices into Salesforce.
  • All admin tasks that are associated with event and merchandising duties.
  • General support activities on the team.


**Weight of tasks may change throughout the year.


EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

  • Degree in Marketing, Project Management, Event Management, Communications, Communications Design, or Business.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.


EXPERIENCE / CAPABILITIES

  • 5+ years experience in a marketing role (preferably in agency or construction industry)
  • Event planning / merchandising experience required
  • PMP Certification or other is an asset
  • Any design experience is an asset
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic photography and videography is an asset
  • Time management and superior organizational skills
  • Working under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Passion for marketing and creativity – knowledge of new trends and competitor analysis
