Position Overview
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist, Logistics. The Senior Procurement Specialist - logistics will be expected to support internal stakeholders with the procurement of materials and services. This includes but is not limited to analyzing market conditions, supplier qualification, providing contracting strategies, and performing RFx events. A Senior Procurement Specialist will be required to negotiate and execute materials and services contracts, manage risk within the contract portfolio, and manage supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specific focus on inbound logistics aspects of all contracting requirements including:
- Transportation standards.
- Proper labelling and packaging requirements.
- Pre-contract activities including stakeholder engagement to identify requirements.
- Supplier Qualification (PQQ), tender process, RFI, RFP.
- Tender evaluations.
- Contract negotiation and execution.
- Supplier management including:
- Developing and improving supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Contract management including execution of negotiated contracts through ISI’s ERP & MRP systems.
- Integrated sourcing initiatives including:
- Developing and implementing category sourcing strategies.
- Continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering, Business, or related subject.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience in a procurement, supply chain or engineering function.
- Knowledge of Canadian Bidding law and Contract law considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Procurement / Contracting performance metrics.
- Experience with international supply chains considered an asset.
- Knowledge of logistics within defense industries considered an asset.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
