Senior Procurement Specialist, Logistics

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Procurement Specialist focused on Logistics. This role is essential in facilitating the procurement of materials and services for internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will engage in market analysis, supplier evaluation, and the development of effective contracting strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the procurement process by analyzing market trends and conditions.
  • Oversee supplier qualification and manage the tendering process, including RFIs and RFPs.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts for materials and services, ensuring robust agreements are in place.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance service delivery.
  • Coordinate subcontractor mobilization, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Engage with various internal departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with Canadian bidding and contract law is advantageous.
  • Experience in managing international supply chains is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of logistics within the defense sector is preferred.
