Senior Procurement Specialist, Logistics

At J.D. Irving, Limited, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Procurement Specialist, Logistics to support our internal stakeholders with the procurement of materials and services. This includes analyzing market conditions, supplier qualification, providing contracting strategies, and performing RFx events.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Focus on inbound logistics aspects of all contracting requirements, including transportation standards, proper labelling and packaging requirements, and pre-contract activities.
  2. Develop and implement category sourcing strategies, and manage supplier performance, including developing and improving supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  3. Contract management, including execution of negotiated contracts through our ERP & MRP systems, and integrated sourcing initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering, Business, or related subject.
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience in a procurement, supply chain or engineering function.
  3. Knowledge of Canadian Bidding law and Contract law considered an asset.
  4. Experience with international supply chains considered an asset.
