The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (Archeo and The Distillery District - Loft) - as well at the District Food Hall at Pearson International Airport - are seekingan experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto's unique food and beverage culture for an international audience.
What you’ll experience with The DRC:
- $73,000 per year, plus benefits and food discounts at all our restaurants.
- Continued learning and development under the guidance of the DRC’s talented Director of Culinary, Tim Miles.

What you’ll be doing:
- Managing multiple retail units' kitchen operations in accordance with standards and/or brand specifications
- Contributingto a positive team environment byleading by example and living our company culturedaily
- Managing all kitchen team membersto ensure efficiency and productivity
- Training and mentoring employees
- Focusingon guest experienceand aim to exceed all expectations
- Assisting with the scheduling of all kitchen employees
- Conducting inventory and maintaining unit inventory levels as well aspurchasing
- Supportingoperational standards and financial goals
- Daily administrative tasks
- Maintainingthe unit(s) in accordance with company, provincial and state health and safety standards
- Other duties as required
What we’d like you to bring to the kitchen:
- EXPERIENCE. We’re looking for a candidate who has culinary management experience.
- EDUCATION + TRAINING. A degree or diploma related to culinary arts is considered a strong asset. You must possess a Food Handlers certificate.
- FLEXIBILITY. You must be available to work days, evenings and weekends, early morning hours 3 a.m. shifts.
- PASSION.
- DRIVERS LICENSE. Having a driver's license is considered advantageous due to early morning shifts
- CRIMINAL RECORD SCREENING. A successful candidate must go through extensive security clearance.
