As the Senior Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of communications deliverables. Reporting to the Director, Content and Communications, you will work collaboratively with internal teams to develop and execute communications that drive business goals. By working on diverse projects with a range of complexities, you will play an integral role in cultivating our varied audiences and developing our corporate voice.
This role is right for you if you are a skilled communicator who is passionate about ensuring the right audience gets the right message at the right time. You enjoy the challenge of dissecting complicated material and distilling it into messaging that resonates with audiences. You feel comfortable working in a regulated environment and engaging with multiple stakeholders at once. You understand the language and nuances required for writing in the financial industry and use your expertise to craft copy that flows seamlessly across tactics.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director, Content and Communications to develop strategic communications plans for internal and external audiences.
- Create clear, well-written copy for communications tactics such as regulatory and operational pieces, corporate and internal communications, media, thought leadership, etc.
- Manage day-to-day communications needs including external communications, editing and the communications inbox.
- Support Marketing initiatives such as business development and event collateral, content marketing and other priorities. Partnering with Marketing and Communications team members to ensure a seamless experience across tactics and channels.
- Collaborate with SMEs and internal teams across the organization to support them with their communications needs, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all communications.
- Proactively identify gaps and opportunities for new content, then work with relevant parties to develop and execute.
- Approach content from a strategic lens, ensuring copy delivers on individual project goals and our overarching communications strategy.
- Consider data, user research and feedback to identify solutions and update content, continually improving the quality of and engagement with our communications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of communications experience, with a background in the financial industry.
- History of writing engaging and informative content for a diverse mix of audiences.
- Impeccable attention to detail with a firm understanding of grammar, syntax and CP style.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills that allow you to handle competing projects, pivot on priorities when needed and embrace change.
- Proven ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, advocating for the audience while accepting constructive feedback in ways that help you build trust and accountability.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
