Job Description

ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the People Operations Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and expertise in Human Resources.

As a key member of the Human Resources team, The Human Resources Administrator will assist Human Resource functions within all departments at ECO Canada. This employee will support the Human Resource department as requested by management, which can include, data entry, file maintenance, policy and procedure writing, as well as participation in the recruiting process. While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of their ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.

Responsibilities

  • HR Administration: Monitor the HR and Job Board shared inbox by responding, forwarding or deleting emails as needed; Coordinate departmental 101 presentations; organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations; manage the Cause for Applause employee recognition program; update the ECO Staff Landing Page regularly; schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas; and draft general forms, letters, reports, and memos as necessary.
  • Conduct employee orientation presentations and provide onboarding materials to new employees.
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Assist with company-wide engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Assist in building engaging and informative training presentations and materials for staff.?
  • Support HR Services projects as required (including the Job Board).
  • Assist the recruitment process by posting jobs,?identifying candidates, participating in interviews, and performing reference checks.??

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite, and Adobe.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills combined with an acute attention to detail.
  • Well-developed, independent work ethic along with ability to communicate with the team and external parties.
  • Professional attitude with staff and clients with a focus on providing exceptional service and confidentiality.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and a willingness to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Administrative experience in Human Resources.
  • Great attitude and ability to maintain control while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR Certifications are an asset (CPHR, Human Resources Business Management, or any other related coursework).
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative roles to handle tasks such as maintaining employee records, managing HR documentation, and coordinating meetings.
  • Knowledge of the environmental sector is considered an asset.

This role is a permanent full-time position, with a three-month probationary period upon start date.
