Overview

This role provides vital support to business processes in the Projects organization through effective Information management and Data analytics/reporting tools and techniques.

As a fully qualified Information Management Specialist, this position supports projects by developing, maintaining, enhancing, rolling-out, fit-for-purpose software tools and web applications. It also facilitates the technology selection process for the Projects Organization.


Accountabilities:

• Assist in developing in-house software tools to support project management, engineering, construction, reporting, and document management functions using technologies like SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerApps, and Power Automate.

• Provide support to end users and help with the administration of SharePoint sites, PowerBI datasets, Microsoft Office solutions, and other tools used by the Projects Organization.

• Help research, review, and recommend additional software tools, representing the Projects Organization on enterprise software initiatives.

• Assist in developing internal tools to automate tasks, streamline processes, increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance project efficiency.

• Support the creation of dashboards using Power BI for tracking project performance and deficiencies.

• Use data analytics to provide insights that support decision-making within the Projects Organization.

• Collaborate with project and stakeholder groups to respond to changing requirements and procedures by updating existing software solutions.

• Promote consistency in data gathering and reporting to help senior management make informed, data-driven decisions and propose effective solutions.

• Act as a liaison with the internal IT department on behalf of the Projects Organization.

• Provide support in integrating existing information management tools with other applications like SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerBI, and Bluebeam.

Scope:

This position will focus on continuous improvement of current information management and data analytic tools that lead to more efficient solutions


Working Conditions:

• Open office environment

• May require travel to onsite locations based on projects requirements

• May experience conflict in prioritizing workloads for multiple stakeholders requiring overtime and tight deadlines


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Degree or diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution in Computer science or certificate/diploma in Information management

• A minimum of 3-5 years direct related experience in SharePoint Administration and Power BI Analytics

• Hands-on experience with PowerApps and Power Automate

• Basic to Intermediate knowledge of client-side SharePoint APIs including REST,SOAP, etc.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

• Able to work independently to develop, maintain and rollout complete tools and web applications with little additional support

• Experience in developing data driven software products, tools and reports

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively and diplomatically/assertively interact with personnel at all levels of the organization

• Working experience in oil and gas projects and/or pipeline design, construction or operation would be an asset
