Working in the Evidence, Policy and Governance Branch, you will be surrounded and supported by a knowledgeable team who value making a difference, strive to provide quality policy advice, encourage continuous learning, and work as a team to achieve results.

Reporting to the Manager, Intergovernmental Relations and Strategic Policy, the Senior Policy Analyst is responsible for providing research-based and politically informed advice in strategic policies and Alberta’s participation in Federal-Provincial-Territorial forum. 

You will be accountable for the following key activities: 

Lead and participate in working groups with federal, provincial, and territorial governments to ensure Alberta's strategic goals are reflected in pan-Canadian labor market initiatives. Prepare policy papers, briefings, and recommendations for senior officials that incorporate economic and political insights, along with current labor force issues and Alberta's interests. Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and factors critical to labor force development, generating policy responses that support improved outcomes for Albertans. Engage and collaborate with government stakeholders to inform strategic initiatives and policy projects. Prepare Cabinet reports and briefing materials to facilitate informed decision-making. Collaborate with other branches, divisions, and Alberta ministries to develop coordinated responses to labor force-related issues.
