Job Summary: As a Registered Practical Nurse with VON, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients in their own homes and community settings. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, client-centered care that promotes health, independence, and well-being.

About the Role: Our Visiting Nurses provide a range of services, including physical assessments, pain and symptom management, health teaching, palliative care, and wound care. You will work independently, using your skills and judgment to make decisions about client care. You will also have the opportunity to work with children and adults, supporting them to continue their education and achieve their goals.

Requirements:

  • Must be Licensed as a Registered Practical Nurse in the province of practice
  • Experience in community health is an asset
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • On-call shifts may be required

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
