Job Title: Mechanical Project Coordinator

Modern Niagara is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Coordinator to join our team in Southwest Ontario (Hamilton). As a key member of our project management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aid project managers in obtaining shop drawings from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and log shop drawings for issue to the general contractor/owner and engineers, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain O&M manuals, collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and distribute project-related documents and drawings to subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Enter budget information into Timberline/accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Complete project CCDCs as part of project close-out, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Enter change orders and distribute change notices/orders to subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of project coordination experience within the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical projects.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly in field work, is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project or construction management software is an asset (e.g., Procore).
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent reading and writing skills, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a sense of urgency and drive to succeed.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with excellent working relationships with employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
