Key Responsibilities- Assist licensed Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the delivery of rehabilitation services to clients.
- Carry out individual and group programs and activities as assigned by a licensed Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
- Provide and maintain rehab equipment as required for specific client use under direction of PT/OT.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with work facilities and co-workers.
- Organize and manage time effectively.
- Work with some independence and self-initiative.
- Maneuver heavy equipment, perform lifts/transfers of physically and/or cognitively impaired clients.
- Assist with treatments and assessments as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain accurate workload measurement statistics for all client and non-client related activities.
- Graduation from High School or equivalency.
- Successful completion of a Two-year diploma from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program is preferred; OR completion of a one-year health-related certificate and willing to complete a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program within a reasonable time frame as determined by the employer.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Ability to understand and demonstrate correct body mechanics.
- Knowledge of Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
- Ability to use computer is an asset or ability and desire to complete study program for same.
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
This is a permanent full-time position with 75 bi-weekly hours (Monday - Friday). The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and may be required to work in various locations within the Labrador-Grenfell Health Zone.
What We Offer- Competitive salary: CG-28 of the NAPE-HS salary scale, $28.65 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.
